Today as I stand at the dais, looking at the eyes of all my little SEMSIANS, I can hear the leaves of old memories making a mournful rustle in the dark. In their innocent little eyes, I can see the reflections of our images, years before now, when we were of the same age as they are today. Indeed time is like the sand in the hour glass…… it runs out too soon.
11 years back, on a fine crisp morning, I stepped for the first time in the grounds of SEMS. From the very first instant, there was this certain intimacy about SEMS, in the warm Smiles of the teachers and in the lush glow of the surroundings that it made us feel so close to our school. And then just like the SuperSonic roller coaster ride, life in SEMS seemed to zoom too fast
Really, what a pleasant land of fantasy and dreams SEMS was. It was like the great banyan tree of the garden giving us shade during intense moments of rain and shine. It fed our blooming brains with unparallel knowledge, quenched our budding artists’ thirsts with Versatile ideas and taught us how to shine in dazzling awe like the stars in the sky. But above all, SEMS taught us how to dare to make Our dreams come true!
We were a naughty, Sweetie bunch of innocent little devils who did everything – from winning the teachers’ hearts with excellent grades in exams to making their life a lot more thrilling with our mischief, we just did it all. Indeed life was too good.
We thank our ever Smiling principal Mam, who made it sure that whatever we did, we could never cross the limit and ensured that Stern sense of discipline and honesty is instilled in our hearts. It might have seemed so harsh right then, but now we realize how essential it was to build us into proper human beings. Believe us teachers, we might have done a lot of mischief, but they were all done in childlike innocence. Please do forget whatever mischief we have done. To all of us, you all will always be the best and the most caring teachers that ever existed.
My dear SEMS, you have given us more to live than you will ever know. Believe me, we really love you a lot and will miss you so much for as long as we live.
But since, we have no more time to lose, let us bid you adieu by recalling what Theodore Seu SS has Said,
“Let us not cry today because it is over, but Let us smile because it has happened”
